Q&A
Q: I recently purchased my first home in Rochester NY and need to know what kind of homeowners insurance I should have. Can you help me?
A: Congratulations on becoming a homeowner. It is one of the best steps you can take to increase your wealth. But as you are learning, there are some things you need to know about owning and maintaining a home, including insurance.
A standard homeowners policy typically protects your home and personal belongings against natural disasters and many uncontrollable events, but often does not cover earthquakes or floods. In Rochester NY we may not have huge natural disasters, however an Insurance professional can make sure you are covered for our specific area. Call me with your real estate questions. I'm here to help you.

Hanging Photos and Artwork
An arrangement of framed photographs or artwork can infuse personality and warmth into any room. You can add beauty to your walls by first selecting your favorite photos, prints or paintings.
Two of the most important features to consider when selecting artwork for your home are size and color. A too small piece can seem lost in your décor, while a large piece or collection of small pieces can overwhelm a room. Keep in mind the space you have to work with when selecting your artwork.
When deciding on color, you can incorporate one or two colors from the room in your art, stick with a monochromatic (single color) scheme, or choose black and white photography. Keep in mind, the bolder the piece the more visual space it will occupy, so select something simple if you are adorning a smaller area.
Once you have chosen your art, you will need to decide how to hang it. You can hang a single piece for a dramatic focus or add balance with an arrangement of smaller pieces. A simple guideline to remember is to hang your artwork at eye level. If you are decorating a living room where people will be sitting much of the time, “eye level” will be lower than if you are decorating a kitchen where people often stand.
Also consider lighting to emphasize your artwork. Soft, subtle lighting can highlight the beauty of your collection and make the most of your improved decor.
